Electric scooters for rent in Vilnius
“Often, trips in the city are quite short, reaching only a few kilometers, and vehicles such as a scooter allow daily trips to work, to a cafe during a lunch break, a public transport stop or a city attraction – without stress. Also, by consistently implementing the sustainable mobility plan, Vilnius undertakes to continue to ensure the development of the bicycle path network so that movement without a car would be even more convenient and attractive for citizens, ”says the project manager of the Sustainable Transport Department of SĮ” Tiekimo paslaugos “.
Over the last four years, Vilnius has invested heavily in bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure. Almost 40 km of bicycle connections and 67 km of sidewalks have been installed and renovated. The necessary infrastructure reaches residential areas – where people need it most. As a result, Vilnius is a great place to use electric scooters for rent. Over the next few years, the aim is to complete the formation of a continuous and convenient network of major cycling routes, and to ensure significantly safer and more pleasant cycling in the urbanized part of the city. This year it is planned to build more than 30 km of connections – on both banks of the Neris and along Vilnius, Pilaitės Ave. and T. Narbuto st., in the “Žirmūnų triangle” – in Žirmūnų, Minties and Tuskulėnų streets, in the northern territory of the city – in the territory of Neris Senvagė and along Linkmenų st., as well as to start works in st., in Naujamiestis – on Algirdo, Geležinkelio, Dariaus and Girėno streets. The city also aims to upgrade at least 20-30 km of sidewalks annually. Municipal Marketing and Communication Department.
According to R. Šimašius, electric scooters are not only becoming a part of sustainable mobility in the city. They are a great complement to the overall public transport ecosystem and commit to providing even better the necessary infrastructure to which the city has paid more attention than ever in recent years. New sidewalks and bike paths are being built at record speeds.
